Context
This picture was taken by UNICEF (Universal Children's Emergency Fund) to show the destruction war causes. This picture was taken in Syria, and it shows the devastation and destruction of war that interrupts the lives of innocent families. This picture shows a family of four, a dad, mum, young boy and newborn baby, fleeing from their own home in order to find safety, shelter and education for the children. I believe this picture is to help us understand the struggle innocent families have when they are caught in the middle of horrific wars, and to make us feel sympathy as in this picture we can clearly see the despair, distress and desperation in their faces. I specifically feel sympathy for the people in this picture as I can see the baby on the left, which makes me feel disappointed to think about the hopeless life that baby may have.

Connection
the picture is cleverly placed in color as it shows the people viewing it there emotions so you can much easier relate to them as feel sorry for them and it also shows you the weather and the condition they've been through. the theme is conflict as it shows us not the blood, horror and guts that occurs but the effects of all the war and what the poor people have to do and suffer for in the tough conditions that they face. the photographer has took the picture at this very exact time to capture the anguish on there distressed faces. a message portrayed here is to show us the distress people have to face just due to all the war and conflict happening in the places around them.

I like how the photographer has focused on the family of 4 and how its let us see the building in the background so we know what environment they are in, another strength is that the camera is focused on the main people and the background is a bit more out of focus which is good In my opinion the weaknesses are that it could have been better in black and white because it would of had more of an affect on the people that are seeing the picture.

The picture is in colour and i think the image is recent because of the colour and we didn't have color a long time ago on pictures, also the picture was taken by UNICEF. The picture was taken in Syria and this family is clearly running away from the war and they had to run away from home with their belongings. This picture has been taken by a family of 4 with a young baby so this shows that this mother has only just give birth and is now having to run away. The effect is that there is a war going on and they have all had to run from home, also in this picture you can see there is an isolated building in the building to show that the place they are in is abandoned.

Composition
The photo has been taken at a high aperture, which creates a deep depth of field. This makes house looks far away, giving the effect that the family are running away and that they have been running for a long time. The shutter speed is fast as the family's movement has been captured into a still, focused image. This means that the photographer did not need to use a tripod, indicating that there was no time to set up a perfect shot; it was taken directly in the moment. It has been taken at their face level, which quickly draws the viewer to the family's distressed facial expressions. There is a diagonal leading line running along their faces, which guides the viewer's eyes across the photo. I think that the photographer has done this to reinforce the image's theme of conflict . A cold white balance and a slightly high exposure has been used to iv the photo a harsh setting, reflecting the family's struggles. Furthermore, the rule of thirds has been used to capture the house, which brings it to the viewer's attention.

I am focusing on bullying
The Reason why I picked these photos and why I like them is because it relates to my theme a lot and the the way the image works is also another thing I like.
My Favorite one out of them all is the first one because it shows all the parts of Bullying and when it adds up it can ruin a person's life, Not just the Victim but also the bully.

What I used
First shoot
Worst picture
The reason I don't like this picture is because you cant see the bully's face and the victim isn't showing enough facial expression
Best picture
I like this photo a lot because the bully is almost being shown in contact and the background is representing the photo as if it was a prison. Also his identity is hidden to show that there isn't much known about the victim or to show that he could be terrified. My depth of field is shallow and this is good because it is showing a good focus of the bully and victim. I have used rule of thirds to achieve in each part of my photo something important, for example in the middle it is showing the victim and the bully's hand almost being in contact and showing the how powerless the victim is, on the left side of rule of thirds is the bully being shown to overpower the victim and his expression is showing how he feels, finally on the right side of rule of thirds is showing the background to emphasize the meaning of the photo. In this photo I was trying to create a meaning on how someone being bullied isn't something you should ignore and how it can affect any victim's life in the future, worst possible scenario suicide.

My evaluation
The part of the project I enjoyed the most was using Photoshop this is because I learnt new ways to in prove the final look of my pictures and I feel more confidant using Photoshop. Our first project theme was conflict and we enjoyed it We were very passionate about the subject because it happens all around us and can come in many forms I learnt of to edit my photos and imply different filters and crop images and add logos, black and white balance. I would like to develop more of my Photoshop skill I would also like to improve on the compositions of my photos. A photographer we researched through the project was UNICEF who is a children's charity for children in danger they have influenced my photographs by saying the true meaning behind them and what the photograph its self is trying to say. The technique I enjoyed the most was exploring Photoshop and learning my ideas I feel I was most successful in developing my Photoshop ideas onto a poster and putting what i needed. The problems I encountered was when I was taking pictures I had to be careful my camera was on the right settings (correct aperture and right shutter speed) so my pictures don't come out blurred or bleached. I learnt from them because I was also correcting the settings and making sure they were right. During this project one new technique I have experienced was how to use the aperture and shutter speed settings on my camera. This helped me realize how I could improve my images by adjusting the settings so that my images were not too dark or light.
